By Jahangir Ala Akash, We heared that a discussion on Bangladesh: Democracy and human rights will be held in Committee room 3, House of Lords, on Monday, 8th of February, 11.30 – 13.00, where will be addressed by Mr Mirza Fakrul Islam, ex-Minister and senior secretary general of Bangladesh Nationalist Party, who will give a BNP viewpoint on the current situation regarding democracy and human rights in Bangladesh.
I am very much thankful to Mr. Tarun Chowdhury, who sent me this schocking news first time.
Now I want to share some real facts and truth on human rights violation by the BNP. Especially it’s for the honourable Mr.Lord Avebury, Vice-Chair of the Parliamentary Human Rights Group and Chair of International Bangladesh Foundation.
Firstly, the founder of the BNP General Zia was the great benefishery of the brutal killing of the father of the nation of Bangladesh Bangabondhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Secondly, they (BNP) were broken our secularism.
Thirdly, founder of BNP was the great killer of democracy by his dectetorship.
Fourthly, BNP was the establisher of war criminals and Islamic militant group (like Bangla bhai who was the linked with Al-Quida).
Fifthly, BNP was the first political party which was given impunity to the self declared killers of Bangabondhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Sixly, from the general election day on October 1, of 2001 the cadres of BNP-Jammat allaiances were started brutal killings, tortureing, looting, raping, grabbing and other inhuman activities on political oponent especially on the minority community. Here I would like to give an example Principle Gopal krishna muhury murder, 11th murders at Bashkhali of Chittagong, Journalist Manik Saha, Humayun Kabir Balu, Dipankar Chakraborty, Goutam Das and Belaluddin murders, Professor Humayun Azad, Prof. Mohammad Yunus and Prof. S. Taher Ahmed murders, MP Ahsanullah Master and MP Momotajuddin, Advocate Monjurul Imam murders. Not only that, the BNP-Jammat jote was tortured to the human rights defenders and writers professor Muntasir Mamun, Shariar Kabir, journalists Saleem Samad, Anamul Huq Chowdhury and Probir Shikder. BNP-Jammat jote was started so-called crossfire, gunfight, encounter and heart attacked turm by Army-RAB and Police since 2002. At least 30 thousands women (young, older and child) were raped and mass raped during BNP-Jammat period (2001-2006). We never forget the case of Purnima, Mohima, Fahima, Trisha and Chandra who were killed after raped or sexual harrased by BNP-Jammat caders. Sabekun Nahar Sony who was the merotorious student of Buet was killed by the caders of student wing of BNP.
BNP-Jammat was patronized to the Islamic militant. Please watch this links:
On 17th August the Islamic militant group (JMB) in 2005 was bomb attacked in whole over the country. In that day JMB was bombing in 63 districts except Munshigonj. This great terrorism was happened with the help of BNP-Jammat government. And also the killings of 21st August of 2004 (at least 24 were killed) was happened by the support of BNP-Jammat government.

Though, now in Bangladesh extra judicial killings, minority oppression and journalists persecution have been going on in the present Awami League government.
Indeed, we couldn’t imazine that a leader of BNP would be discussed on democracy and human rights in an international forum. Really it’s unfortunate for human rights and for the oppressed peoples of Bangladesh.
